We encourage volunteerism in two categories:

Direct Service Volunteers:
When someone has experienced domestic or sexual violence, they seek advice in a confidential setting with trained professionals. At Women’s Resources of Monroe County, we offer help through a 24 Hour Hotline or Helpline service. Direct Service Volunteers (and staff) are available for our hotline and are fully trained through a 69 hour Counselor Advocate Training Course. The training curriculum is endorsed by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape and sanctioned through the Women’s Resources of Monroe County organizational leadership. Our goal is to offer support, information, referral or services to best meet the needs of women, children, and men reporting domestic or sexual violence issues through the availability of 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. If you want to help victims directly through our domestic violence service area, contact us by clicking on the links below, to initiate or develop your contribution.

We have counted on over 50 volunteers to assist with special events and other projects such as our Annual Geranium Sale, Annual Gala, Cell Phone Project, and the ECHO project. If you are invested in helping with non-direct care, please contact our Office Manager (yvonnedowns@wrmonroe.org) to tailor a volunteer project fitting your needs and ours!
