Prevention and Awareness

Safe Monroe is committed to helping all residents of Monroe County. Through our Prevention Education and community awareness programs, Safe Monroe raises awareness and educates the public about the issues of domestic and sexual violence, as well as works to prevent violence and abuse through our prevention education programs.

We do this by offering free prevention education programs to schools, churches and other community organizations, working with colleges and universities on special projects, providing free educational material for parents and educators, by hosting events such as Take Back the Night and Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigils.
