Counseling

All services are FREE & CONFIDENTIAL and are available to anyone affected by domestic and sexual abuse – of any sexual orientation, gender identity, age, economic status or cultural background.

Safe Monroe offers individual and group counseling to victims and survivors of domestic and/or sexual abuse. These services are also available to family members who are affected by the abuse or violence - this can include:

  • Child and Teen witnesses to violence
  • Parents of children who have been abused
  • Significant others of victims or survivors

The counseling services of the agency embrace the empowerment philosophy with a trauma-informed and survivor-centered approach. Counselors assist victims in creating safety plans and establishing personal goals, which they can implement into their daily lives to continue to live free from violence.

Support Groups

Safe Monroe offers support group programs for victims and survivors of domestic and/or sexual abuse, as well as family and friends of those affected by the abuse or violence.

Our programs are carefully curated by our counselors to target specific topics and issues surrounding domestic and sexual violence while providing a safe space for participants to speak freely and be heard. Ultimately, our goal is to educate and heal through conversation.

Domestic & Sexual Abuse Support Group

Safe Monroe brings you a new trauma-informed hybrid support group!

“Together, We Rise” combines traditional talking/peer support with an art workshop. The objective of this group is to empower survivors to rise up from the ashes of their circumstances and stand in opposition to violence. We will touch on subjects including (but not limited to)- red flags, boundaries, and safety planning.

The support group will on select Tuesdays from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.

All meetings are being held at our main office in the Delaware Water Gap. If transportation is an issue, we can accommodate those with a Zoom link to join after the art portion of the meeting is over.
