Butterfly Release for Peace
Social distancing is keeping us from many of the formal events with which we would ordinarily mark the milestones of our lives. Women’s Resources of Monroe County wants the community to know that although we’re unable to gather together for the 10th Annual Butterfly Release for Peace, this does not mean that the experiences and lives of our survivors are forgotten.
The Butterfly Release for Peace celebration will feature music, inspirational messages, and the release of beautiful Monarch butterflies, which can be purchased for $15 each. Included in each purchase is a memorial keepsake magnet which will be sent along with a copy of the event program. The iconic symbol of the butterfly lends itself to the vision of rebirth, transition, hope and strength; all positive attributes to the loved ones being remembered, honored and celebrated.
We hope you will join us by participating in our special Virtual Butterfly Release on Wednesday, September 23 at 5:30PM. The Virtual Butterfly Release gives all of us the opportunity to honor individuals impacted by domestic violence while showing support of the families who’ve lost a loved one.
This butterfly release is for everyone. Share and invite your family and friends to participate also.
