Children's Counselor/Advocate (Full Time, 37.5 hours/week)

The Children’s Counselor/Advocate is responsible for providing crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, advocacy, and accompaniment on behalf of teen and child victims/survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.

Successful applicant will provide services for victims at various locations throughout Monroe county. Applicant should possess experience in crisis work, openness to flexible work schedules, ability to manage crisis with adults and children, and enthusiasm for the field of victim services.

Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field required, Master’s degree preferred. Work experience respected. Must complete 70-hour counselor/advocate required training.

Legal Advocate (Part Time, up to 30 hours/week)

Legal advocacy involves various activities and skills including but not limited to: providing information to assist survivors in making choices among various legal options, support through the criminal/civil justice system, and working with legal and law enforcement agencies to strengthen victim-centered responses to these crimes. Legal advocacy is not legal advice or the practice of law, which requires a qualified licensed attorney.

Successful applicant should possess experience and documented achievements in crisis work, an understanding about PA laws and legal proceedings, ethical work standards and openness to flexible work schedules.  Bachelor’s degree in related field required and work experience respected. Must complete 70-hour counselor/advocate required training.

Shelter Counselor/Advocate (Full Time, 2nd Shift, 37.5 hours/week)

Successful applicant will possess experience and documented achievements in their work with diverse individuals who have experienced abuse and trauma, and the ability to manage crisis with adults and children.

Applicants must possess the ability to work within a residential/shelter setting with families in crisis and be able to work independently within established professional, ethical boundaries. They must demonstrate strong decision making and conflict resolution skills Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and life experience respected. Must complete a required 69 hour crisis intervention training.
